This year, we will be using the MTEC RunnerTag program to provide you with a personalized photo gallery post-race! This incredible program captures your bib number and anywhere you are shown in a photo, you will receive it in your runner gallery!

This is offered FREE to our runners, thanks Driftless Hydration! Driftless Hydration is brand new to the Rochester community and is a health service that offers IV Infusions to help your recovery in many areas. Whether you need help with energy, immune support, detox, or athlete recovery, Driftless Hydration has specialized IV Infusions to get you moving in the right direction. They will be at the Med City Marathon in 2024 at the expo and the finish line.

FULL MARATHON

Event details 

The main event of the weekend, the Med City Marathon, Presented by ActivePT, begins near the Rochester International Airport, and finishes in the vibrant downtown of Rochester, MN. The course cuts across the Rochester community, sharing panoramic views of midwestern farms, tree lined neighborhoods, river trails, and the energy of the City life. The Med City Marathon is a Boston Qualifying racing event. 

NEW TO 2024! Our course finish is now ending deeper in the heart of downtown on 1st Ave SW. 

6 hour time limit 

The Finish Line Festival will include plenty of hydration by Gillette Pepsi of Rochester and of course an incredible celebration with a live band and a free beer to racers 21+. The race finishes in downtown Rochester, giving you plenty of opportunities to keep your celebration alive with the local scene.

GPC HALF MARATHON

Event details

Including the best of the Rochester community, this race starts at a higher elevation and is all downhill from there, making this race an extremely fast course. This USATF certified course will include the farmland panoramic, treelined neighborhoods, and on course entertainment included with the full marathon.

Event details 

Partner up! The Med City Marathon boasts one of the most well attended relay marathon events around! Race the full Med City Marathon with you and your favorite people with teams of 2-4. Racers will complete their own separate portions of the race and meet at the finish line festival to celebrate your team accomplishments.

20 MILE

Event details 

NEW THIS YEAR! We are now making sure the 20 milers can finish Downtown with everyone else! If you are a 20 Miler, you now start 6.2 miles in front of everyone else!

YOUR START TIME IS DIFFERENT! You start at 7:15am. Bus routes will still drop off here. There is no good parking! If being dropped off, vehicles will need to find a shoulder on the EAST side of Bamber Valley Rd SW. They must move the cars quickly after the start of the race! This race is a great opportunity to go a little extra if you are looking at pushing past the half marathon, or, if you are training for a later season race such as the Twin Cities Marathon. The race will follow the Full Marathon Course and will finish at Mile 20, marked on the map. Shuttles will drop you back off at the finish line to enjoy your festivities.

Altra Federal Credit Union 5K

Event details 

Kick off your summer motivation with Altra Federal Credit Union 5K! This event will start and end in the vibrant downtown Rochester. Expect a gorgeous course along the Zumbro River, ending right in the Center of Rochester for your finish line festival. 5K course will be USATF registered and certified to exact distance. The Fastest Wheels Competition

presented by Rochester Motor Cars

Rochester Motor Cars is partnering with the Med City Marathon to bring you the Fastest Wheels competition, part of the the Altra Federal Credit Union 5K on Saturday, May 18th! All 5K runners will be chip timed. The competition will host the Rochester Motor Cars sprint line at the finish. There will be a timing mat set exactly 40 yards from the finish line of the 5K. Runners can choose to do the timed sprint finish for a chance at winning the “FASTEST WHEELS” competition. The overall runners will win a grand prize (to be announced) and a trophy as the Fastest Wheels of Med City Marathon, presented by Rochester Motor Cars!

The Med City Marathon is proud to partner with Rochester Motor Cars as the official WHEELS of Med City! Rochester Motor Cars has been a leader in the Rochester community for auto sales since 1999, now hosting 7 locations. Not only do they offer outstanding service and experience, they are deeply committed to supporting and bettering our community in Rochester. Be sure to give them a high five when you see them at the race!

Corporate and Community Team Challenge 5K

We are now including a corporate and community team 5K race challenge on Saturday evening! We invite you to put a team together and promote your business, organization, and community teams, in the spirit of health and community wellness. Click below for more info and Team Registration!

Details: 
Teams are made up of AT LEAST 5 runners ( If you have 12 or more runners, we recommend hosting 2 separate teams)

Teams will all start and race together in the Altra Federal Credit Union 5K.  All runners on the team will be chip timed from start to finish. We will take the time of the 5 fastest finishers on your team and add this together. The team with the fastest time will win a traveling trophy (along with individual medals). This timing set up means you do not have to worry about being the fastest person. This event is for anyone and everyone, and the more the merrier! We aim to work on team building and employee health and wellness. 

Can I make a team if I am not with a business or organization? 
Yes! We will have a division of community teams that you can make with your friends and family members. 

The 5K race will be complete with a finisher medal and a custom racer longsleeve. At the finish line, you will have plenty of refreshments, free beer offered to 21+, and a great finish line festival with a live band! Start building your teams!

RONALD MCDONALD WALK

2024 Walk will be during the Altra 5K! Proceeds from this event will go to the Ronald McDonald House of Rochester!
Proceeds go to the Ronald McDonald House! The Med City Marathon is proud to once again be supporting the Ronald McDonald House as our charity partner for 2024. The course will include an awesome stroll along the river as we gain support for the mission of the Ronald McDonald House and their incredible work in our community.

MED CITY KIDS RACE presented by GLK ORTHODONTICS

Event details 

Bring the kiddos out for the Med City Kids race, presented by GLK Orthodontics, and get them motivated for healthy lifestyles! This FREE run includes a fun race course along the Zumbro River trails, a finisher medal, t-shirt upgrade option, and an awesome finish line fest. 
Kids race is 1.2 miles. 

Kids Run Start | 5:30PM on Saturday May 18, 2024

 

We have a Mile Tracker for kids! Kids can use our interactive Marathon trail work sheet to start logging miles. The goal is to complete 25 Miles in your own time before the Med City Marathon weekend. Kids can then participate in the GLK ortho kids run during the marathon weekend to complete their final leg of the Marathon! A total of 26.2 miles!
